HERO began in 1996 founded by Deanna Micheli who led a group of Operating Room nurses who saw usable medical supplies being thrown away by the hospital for legal and financial reasons. They knew these supplies could help people in need. Operating out of a garage, they collected the supplies for medical mission groups. Overtime, they started to receive inquiries for medical supplies and equipment locally. In 2000, HERO became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Today, we continue to collect healthcare materials from hospitals, individuals, and agencies. These are redistributed to our local and global community to help those with medical needs who may or may not be able to afford them. HERO will not turn anyone away in need of medical equipment or supplies
